Detection Working Group Busy Week

“The NANOGrav Detection Working Group is gathering to strategize on forthcoming gravitational-wave background searches that builds from the work in the 12.5yr analysis. We will use this week to make rapid progress on time-intensive tasks, and ensure personnel are distributed across all necessary areas.”




15 Year Data-Set 5x5 Busy Week

Our overarching goal during this 5x5 busy week is that by the end of the week (if not sooner) we will be in a position to complete both wideband and narrowband timing analyses for all pulsars that will go into ‘v0’ of the 15-year data set.

Pulsar Timing Array Busy Week

The principal purpose of this busy week is to undertake Timing Group work associated with the 14-year data release. This will include overall planning (e.g., what to include in the data set, procedures to use for data analysis, etc.), algorithm work (e.g., how to identify and mitigate problems associate with the Arecibo LO issue), timing analysis (e.g., developing solutions for pulsars newly added to the program), and other data-set-related work.

The NANOGrav spring meeting will be held at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. The campus is divided into two main sections, one in downtown Morgantown and the other in the Evansdale neighborhood. The student workshop will be held in White Hall on the Downtown campus while the advisory board and science meetings will be held on the Evansdale campus at the Erickson Alumni Center.
