A coordinate system in the reference frame of the Galactic plane. The Galactic longitude and latitude are often denoted as (l, b), where l = 0 points in the direction of the Galactic center and b = 0 means that an object on the sky is in the same plane as the MilkyWay/Galactic plane. In the context of pulsars, we often convert to Galactic coordinates in order to place where our objects are in relationship to other pulsars or material in the Galaxy.
